Last year, United Arab Airlines lifted a ban on their direct passenger flight from Uganda into the country. However, it is necessary to have a negative report of their COVID-19 PCR test, which is not older than 48 hours to pre-departure and another test taken at the airport.
The airline announced that it would begin its flights from January 08. It only flies four alternative days in a week, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
As per the airline, “We will start our flights to Dubai and take all the necessary measures to make sure the protection of passengers when they travel with us.”
For the safety of passengers, we make sure that the passengers present us with a copy of their COVID-19 PCR test, which is not more than 48 hours before the scheduled departure of their flight to Dubai.
Airlines also issued the new rule of test in which passengers are expected to take a rapid PCR test at the airport and do the test within 6 hours before departure time. The test can be seen by the QR code option given to passengers by the airport staff.
A week ago, the United Arab Emirates suspended all flights from Uganda to Dubai until further notice after passengers with negative COVID-19 results tested positive on arrival in Dubai.
Flights from Entebbe were suspended in June because the COVID-19 cases were increasing, and many passengers tested positive for the virus on arrival in Dubai.
Last year, in October, the airline launched its first flights to Dubai, one of the most profitable routes.
When flights were suspended, Uganda Airlines travelled through cargo between Entebbe and Dubai.
According to the statement of Airline officers, this has unintentionally helped build cargo capacity.
This step helped the cargo airline get fame in the market, and now the market knows the cargo airlines have a cargo flight, about their prices and the timings.
