One senior US envoy has argued that the Taliban have imprisoned 29 women along with their families in Kabul. ‘Rina Amiri’ is the US special representative, especially for Afgan women, Girls and Human rights and mentioned that these women were among 40 people seized on February 11, Friday.

Amiri took this matter on Twitter, where she wrote, ‘These unfair detentions need to stop.”

However, after some hours, that tweet was deleted. But sources confirmed that multiple women had been detained in Kabul.

The disclosure increases concerns about the rising numbers of people seized and held in Afghanistan ever since the Taliban took over.

According to the UN secretary-general, “I am highly concerned about the well-being of the missing women and activists in Afghanistan. Several have disappeared, and some not heard from in weeks.”

He further stated, “I strongly request the Taliban to secure their safety so that they can return home.”

In the initial period of January, Taliban leaders alerted that they had all the rights to crack down on conflict and jailed protestors.

The notice came after the two women activists stated that two of their fellow commanders were grabbed from their homes after they both took part in a few protests.

As per the reports, Tamana Zaryabi Paryani and Parwana Ibrahimkhel were seized from their homes in Kabul.

Taliban authority spokesperson ‘Zabihullah Mujahid’ has refused that any women were being held there. However, he stated that the government had the right to give detention to anyone who will be going to break the law or they can arrest anyone.”

Furthermore, he said in his interview that Nobody has a right or is allowed to disrupt because it would disrupt the peace and order of the country.
