Kuwait city: MP Badr Al, Hamidi has submitted their proposal in order to amend the Foreigners Residency Law, which was directed to the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee on Monday.
Al-Hamidi took this step about a year after proposing the cancellation of residency permits for expatriates suffering from chronic mental or neurological diseases, which can take years to treat. However, this proposal is still in the hands of the concerned parliamentary committees.
As per the new prospectus of the lawmaker, if any foreigner who applies for a work visa in the country, engage in a commercial activity or join a family must attach to his application an approved medical certificate which depicts that the applicant is free from chronic, psychological or infectious disease.
He should also attach a certificate that depicts his genetic makeup or DNA and the results of tests as made with the aim to determine mental illness. If he has shown any sign of any disease, then the recruiter must take procedures for the foreigner to return to his country at his own expense.
According to Al-Humaidi, the goal of his proposal is to protect Kuwaiti society by ensuring that none of its citizens contracts the aforementioned diseases. He highlighted the importance of maintaining Kuwait’s health status, social values, customs, and traditions.
Last year, in 2021 September, Kuwait allowed only those exporters who were healthy and that move that bring smiles to many faces that time. Another ice in the cake for immigrants is that by sticking to strict rules, the visiting visa of their dependents can be later converted to a dependent visa.
Kuwait administration also eased their norms and regulations related to issuing visas which were beneficial for expatriates, especially those who belong to Kerala working in Kuwait. They also gave beneficiaries to the family.
