As the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan is deteriorating day by day, the UAE has provided the troubled country with a total of 30 tons of food supplies.
The aircraft that was sent by UAE officials carrying food materials arrived in Kabul on Monday, 18 April.
Zabiullah Mujahid, the spokesperson of the Taliban, said that the help would be distributed among the impoverished class through government institutes.
Mujahid also called on people to donate to make the procedure of humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan conditional.
He further stated, “We call for unconditional help, without any hidden political agenda. This is a humanitarian issue. The Afghans must be provided with help. The UAE has provided with help without any motive.”
On the other hand, Cihad Erginay, the Turkish ambassador in Kabul, said that Turkey’s fourth aid delivery had reached Torghondi port in Herat province.
Erginay said, “We distribute aid in coordination with the Red Cresent Society and many other organizations in the provinces. The assistance includes medical supplies, wheat, sugar and some other material.
Taliban gave its word to distribute the aid transparently. Mujahid said, “The aid will be distributed through the help of five government institutions. There will be complete transparency, and we will distribute the aid fairly. Unfortunately, there are many problems with aid distributed by international organizations.”
While stressing upon the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres earlier said that almost nine million individuals are at risk of famine in the troubled country.
Guterres also stated on Twitter that the economy of Afghanistan has effectively collapsed and called on people to donate to provide funds to the country so that the UN and its allies can continue to provide life-saving aid.
The situation of Human rights in Afghanistan has become worst since the Taliban took over the country in August last year.
Although the fights in the country have ended, serious human rights violations still continue to prevail.
