Bahrain: The Ministry of Health of the nations of the world participates in the celebration of the World Anti-Smoking Day under the slogan “Tobacco:

Threatens Our Environment”, which falls on May 31 every year, by organizing a number of events and activities aimed at highlighting and raising public awareness of the impact of Tobacco on the environment.

The WHO confirmed that the effects of Tobacco on the environment pose a threat to developing countries, especially since it harbours the largest part of tobacco production.”

The environmental burden is thrown on the people of the least sustainable countries.

Every year, on May 31, the world celebrates the day of awareness on the importance of fighting smoking in all its forms, and its risks that cause disease and death, in order to raise awareness about the dangers of smoking, negative smoking in all forms, and to raise awareness of the risks of smoking on lung health, and to provide youth Father with the necessary knowledge, empower the youth to stand up to smoking, attract Global attention on the widespread control of tobacco use and its negative health effects, which currently leads to death annually in various regions.

According to WHO statistics, 90 per cent of deaths from lung cancer, 75 per cent from chronic scoliosis, and 25 per cent from coronary artery blockages are caused by smoking. Therefore, effective measures are taken in different countries of the world aimed at preventing the spread of this bad habit and encouraging smokers to quit it.
