Bahrain: The Ministry of Health of the nations of the world participates in the celebration of the World Anti-Smoking Day under the slogan “Tobacco:
Threatens Our Environment”, which falls on May 31 every year, by organizing a number of events and activities aimed at highlighting and raising public awareness of the impact of Tobacco on the environment.
The WHO confirmed that the effects of Tobacco on the environment pose a threat to developing countries, especially since it harbours the largest part of tobacco production.”

According to WHO statistics, 90 per cent of deaths from lung cancer, 75 per cent from chronic scoliosis, and 25 per cent from coronary artery blockages are caused by smoking. Therefore, effective measures are taken in different countries of the world aimed at preventing the spread of this bad habit and encouraging smokers to quit it.
