Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy President of the Prime Minister, Allah bless him, as a Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, issued Law No. (5) for 2022 to establish the “Dubai Media Council“, aiming to unify media efforts in the Emirate.

As issued by His Highness Decree No. (10) for the year 2022 with the appointment of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Media Council, and Decree No. (12) of 2022 forming the Dubai Media Council headed by His Highness Sheikh Ahmad bin Mohammed and a member of His Excellency Mani Ghanam Al-Mari, Deputy of the View Q and chartered member Hala happiness Youssef Badri, Saadah Malik Sultan Al Malik, Abdullah Hamid Balhol, Younes Abdul Aziz Al Nasser, Amal Ahmad bin Shabib, Essam Abdul Rahim Kazem, Mohamed Sulaiman Mullah, in addition to the Secretary General of the Dubai Council of Knowledge, and the duration of the Three-year council membership is renewable for a similar period.

Qualifications of the Council
Law No. (5) of the year 2022 states that the Dubai Media Council shall be the governmental entity for the media sector in the Emirate of Dubai, which alone represents the Emirate and its local authorities in front of the federal and local authorities in the state, regional and international organizations in all issues passing.

In cooperation with the Council
The Law commits all governmental bodies, media institutions and other entities operating in the media sector in the Emirates, in full cooperation with the Council and annexes, to provide them with all the documents, data, Information, statistics and studies they request, which are necessary To enable the Council to achieve its objectives and perform the tasks assigned to it under the obligation of this Law and the resolutions issued thereafter And the laws in effect in the Emirate.
The issuance of executive resolutions
The President of the Dubai Media Council issues the decisions necessary to implement the provisions of this Law, and any text in any other legislation can be cancelled to the extent to which he opposes its provisions. Law (5) of 2022, Decree (10) of 2022, Decree (12) of 2022, and Executive Council Resolution No. 22 of 2022 are published in the official gazette, and those legislations have been used from the date of publication.
