Bahrain: The Health Promotion Department organizes a workshop on tobacco control in coordination with the Northern Governorate, Tobacco Control Group and Al-Charity Association.
The Health Promotion Department of the Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the Northern Governorate, the Tobacco Control Group of the Ministry of Public Health Department, and a High Charity Association within the Healthy Cities Program and High Health City Trust, organized a tobacco control workshop in conjunction with the celebration of the day World Anti-smoking under the theme “Our planet and our bodies are in danger, let’s make” Change”, held at a high charity, in the presence of a number of officials and those involved in the fight against smoking.
The workshop aimed to strengthen anti-smoking efforts to maintain health and prevent chronic diseases, raise awareness of the harms of tobacco use and its types, enhance the skill of persuasion and influence smokers to quit smoking, and foster community responsibility to participate in awareness Advice to quit smoking, presented by health promotion specialist.
Mr Houra Torch, health promotion specialist Mr Ali Al-Aradi, purposeful lectures, discussed the first axis on the topic of smoking between reality and fears, during which concepts related to smoking were discussed, a plan to quit smoking, and the role of the Ministry of Health, Community, and parents in quitting smoking, while eating the second axis is the topic of influence, persuasion, concepts, strategies of persuasion, and barriers of persuasion.
This workshop had an awareness fair on smoking organized and supervised by the Public Health Department Anti-smoking group.
