Egypt: Before the tragedies of Naira Ashraf and Salma Bahgat were repeated, the security services in Egypt rescued a girl from one of the areas in Greater Cairo before she was killed by a young man who refused to marry him.
The story began, according to the Egyptian newspapers, when the security services received a report from a student residing in the Rawd al-Farag department, complaining that she had been harmed by a person, who residing in the same area, for sending threatening and harming messages to her, and chasing her in the places she frequented.
The detectives were able to arrest the young man, and after legalizing the procedures, and by confronting him, he confessed to committing the incident because he proposed to her and rejected her family.
During the past few months, the Egyptian street witnessed two horrific crimes after the two students, Naira Ashraf and Salma Bahgat, were slaughtered by their colleagues in two separate incidents after they refused to marry them.
The student, Mohamed Adel, slaughtered his young colleague, Naira Ashraf, in front of the university gate in Mansoura, north of Cairo, on June 20, while the Mansoura Criminal Court sentenced the killer to death.
As for Salma Bahgat, known as the “media student”, she was slain in early August by her colleague in the northern city of Zagazig after she refused to associate with him. She had 19 stab wounds in different parts of the body.
