Bahrain’s military has accused Houthi militants of the drone strike that killed two Bahraini soldiers alongside Yemen-Saudi Arabia border .Many Bahraini soldiers were also wounded, although an exact number of  wounded soldiers was not yet disclosed .

The information about the above-mentioned attack has come to the forefront through the statement released by the Bahrain military. Whereas, the details regarding the exact location of the attack was not found mention in the statement.

It is to be specifically mentioned that, Bahraini soldiers are in Saudi Arabia as a part of a coalition to help Yemen government from potential threats from the Houthi militants.

According to the statement, “Houthis sent aircraft and targeted the position of Bahraini troops on the southern border of Saudi Arabia.”

Notably, the island nation of Bahrain is supporting Saudi Arabia in the ongoing war against Houthi militants.

Moreover, these Houthi militants are receiving the support of Iran to dislodge the incumbent govt of Yemen.

How this conflict started

The war between Yemen’s elected government and the Houthi militants started in the year 2014 . Houthi militants seized the capital city of Sana’a from control of the government.

In 2015, Saudi-Bahrain led alliance came into field to protect the internationally recognised government of Yemen.

Even after accusation by the Bahrain military, there has been no response from the Houthi side till now. The Houthi had not acknowledge the attacks in media or other social media handles being operated by them.

At the same time, the peace talks are going on between the Houthi negotiator and the officials of Saudi Arabia, which are centric to end the conflict within Yeman and bringing peace in the nation.

It is to be added that, even before the peace talks, the United Nations has extended efforts to reinstate the ceasefire between both the nations. The efforts to hold ceasefire has even brought positive outcome, which resulted in bringing halt to the growing violence.

After the attack, the Saudi Arabian-led coalition warned the Houthi fighters for strict retaliation . Saudi Arabian government declared this attack inconsistent with the efforts for constructive peace talks .

The internationally recognised government of Yemen condemned the attack that cost the lives of two Bahraini soldiers.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Minister of Yemen, Ahmad bin Mubarak said that, “he spoke to the chief diplomat of Bahrain, Abdullatiff al-zayani, over the phone and offered condolences and solidarity with Bahrain in this moment of grief.”
