During the official visit, the foreign minister appreciated the vision of Mohammed VI, the king of Morocco, on promoting South-South Cooperation.
The foreign minister, Vince Henderson, led the delegation of Dominica to the nation of Morocco where the official meeting was arranged in Rabat, the capital of Morocco, on Monday, 22 April. The major part of the discussion went on the ideas and requirements of the cooperative steps by the global south.
The South-South Cooperation is a diplomatic term used for nations around the world that are on the southern side of an imaginary line. The other term used for these nations is Global South which remained a major focus point in global politics in recent times.
The intention of the South-South Cooperation is to bring together the nations of the global south to take steps together toward prosperity and growth through the exchange of resources, knowledge, and technologies.
Minister Vince Henderson talked about the active steps of King Mohammed VI toward mutual cooperation based on the principles of solidarity, efficiency, and pragmatism. He mentioned how the vision of the King of Morocco can lead to better growth in the global south with required cooperation.
Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita of Morroco also added his words in relation to the statements of the minister of Dominica. He mentioned about the cooperation of both nations in the sector and many other regional and geo-political issues to advance mutual development.
Minister Nasser Bourita took the stage to highlight the contribution of Morocco towards the betterment of the Caribbean nations including Dominica in several sectors including educational, development, and technical assistance in agriculture.
He talked about the scholarship programme that came into implementation with the diplomatic tie-ups between both nations. With this, it was also highlighted how both nations got involved in the other necessary sectors of national integrity including territorial disputes, sovereignty, and other issues.
In the bilateral meeting between the nations, Minister Vince Henderson once again mentioned about the support of the government of Dominica to the territorial integrity of Morroco, talking about the Western Sahara dispute.
