St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew is glad to receive the artwork of young people from the Federation. The PM Office is decorated with paintings created by the younger ones who are just 10 years old.
Reportedly, these pieces were acquired by PM Drew from the Department of Youth Empowerment’s Youth Art Exhibition which was held last year in November 2023.
These artworks reflect the vision of a sustainable island state and highlight the natural beauty of serving as a reminder of the potential and creativity within the youth.
As per the sources, the conference room in Government Headquarters also features a stunning mural by Sasha The Artist Studio. It is all about offering memorable art experiences that emphasizes the interactive aspects of art-making, while fostering a sense of community. It aims to share creativity amongst guests.
The mural is created by the artist Sasha Herbert who is affectionately known as ‘Sasha The Artist’. She is an ‘Artrepreneur’, which means an artist who is also an entrepreneur. She is from St. Kitts and Nevis and is the owner of Sasha The Artist Studio.
Sasha Herbert is a renowned artist entrepreneur from the twin island. She is popular for her innovative approach to the visual arts and entertainment industry.
The artist continues to inspire through her art and teaching. She enriched the cultural landscape of St. Kitts and Nevis. Her dedication to make art accessible underscores her belief in the transformative power creativity, elevating Caribbean art globally.
Sasha’s art is recognized worldwide and has been featured in several exhibitions, including the Charlestown Gallery ‘Water’ Art Exhibition in Nevis (2024) and the St. Kitts – Nevis High Commission Virtual Art Exhibition (2020).
She also participated in Carifesta XIV ‘Across Borders’ Exhibition in Trinidad and Tobago in 2019, highlights her international reach. Her achievements have earned her the art experiences that were offered through Sasha The Artist Studio, through several awards.
The ones who were included in the Unique Travel Experience by FORBES and received a Creative Excellence Award in Visual Arts in the year 2024.
