The event is being held for three consecutive days, from November 14 to 16, 2024. This brings together the leading surgeons and medical professionals from across the Caribbean and beyond to promote safe and accessible laparoscopic surgery throughout the region.
President of CaSES and Head of Surgery at Kingston Public Hospital in Jamaica – Dr. Lindberg Simpson emphasized the importance of the conference in expanding the reach of minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Dr. Simpson further added that their goal at CaSES is to increase the accessibility of laparoscopic surgery for the Caribbean people. With this initiative, they aim to promote safe laparoscopic surgery and spread its reach, especially to smaller island states such as St. Kitts and Nevis.
Laparoscopic surgery is also known as minimally invasive surgery that offers numerous benefits over traditional open surgery. This includes reduced pain, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery times.
The surgery has brought the conference to St. Kitts and Nevis CaSES, which highlights the commitment of the nation to advance healthcare services and ensure that residents have access to the latest surgical innovations.
Moreover, CaSES is dedicated to promote safe and effective laparoscopic surgery throughout the Caribbean. The major purpose of hosting these annual conferences, workshops and collaborative events is that the society aims to educate both the medical professionals and the public about the benefits of minimally invasive surgery.
