The Ambassador of Bahrain to Israel’ Khaled Yussef al-Jalahma’ visited Safra children’s Hospital at Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer on Sunday, March 13, 2022.
Jalahma made his first visit to the medical centre, and he made this visit with his wife and Bahrain’s Deputy Ambassador to Israel, Abdul Karim Alansari.
Prof. Yitzhak Kreis, director of Sheba Medical Center, welcomed the Bahraini celebrities before hosting a conference in which they discussed the centre and future partnerships between both parties.
After attending that meeting, the ambassador went on a hospital tour led by Dr Moshe Ashkenazi. He is the deputy director of the Safra children’s Hospital. They featured several elements at the hospital during the tour, such as an educational preparation room for pediatric medical procedures, a pediatric inpatient ward, an intensive care unit, and a therapeutic music room.
Not only did they visit the hospital, but they also met with several patients of the hospital and specialists, including Prof Raz Somekh. He is also the director of the Department of Pediatrics and a national expert and researcher in the field of congenital diseases of the immune system.
The ambassadors of Bahrain also met with Shahar Reshef, an art therapist, who talked about the educational and mental environment given to children in the hospital.
Israel’s largest hospital is ‘Sheba Medical Center’ in Tel Hashomer‘. It was founded in 1948 – this is the same year Israel was founded. And this is famous for its outstanding research facilities. Seba was also ranked as the 10th best hospital globally by Newsweek in 2021- falling from 9 places in 2020. Both spots made Sheba the highest-ranked hospital in Israel.
