The Haryana government plans to have a roundtable in Dubai with top developers so that they can plan to invest in the Global City project. The conference will also provide a chance to know best practices used to enhance projects such as Dubai’s Business Bay.
Business Bay is an economic district with corporate high-rise buildings, residential projects, hotels, and offices directing global companies.
As per the Haryana Chief Minister, ‘Manohar Lal Khattar’, Global City would be developed as the central business district of the whole national capital region (NCR). After holding the third-round table meeting in Gurugram on Wednesday, the CM made this announcement.
Khattar stated that the administration and its agencies are taking inputs from developers and suggestions regarding what should be the features of the Global City.
“We are conferring with and aspiring ideas from large and small developers concerning infrastructure, a measure of plots, land use pattern and other conditions,” he stated.
In three phases, the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) will design this project on 1000 acres of land discovered across Sectors 36, 36B and 37B.
This is going to be the largest project in the country, and govt is planning to involve top developers, planners and designers. Govt also had a similar meeting with developers in Dubai, said Khattar and will seek the expertise of an international designer and architect.
The Haryana government is planning to develop this city as a mixed land-use township, focusing on quality city-centric living. It would be developed as a hub for the service industry where spaces will be developed for service industry, where spaces would be available for residential, commercial, healthcare, education and other projects, informed by the chief minister.
The administration has also allowed a floor area ratio between 300 to 350 in this zone, and the project has already acquired land.
The good part of the Global City is its sewage and waste management system, which can segregate solid waste. It will send residual waste to landfills. The government will also develop their personal heliport in this city.
According to Deputy chief minister ‘Dushyant Chautala’ inputs from local and international developers and investors would be factored in to sure the development of a sustainable, growth-oriented, futuristic city.
Senior government officials who accompanied the roundtable include DS Dhesi, chief principal secretary; ‘V Umashankar’, principal secretary; Vijayender Kumar, principal secretary, industries department; and Sunil Sharma, chief coordinator, HSIIDC.
Inputs and ideas from the industry leaders will also be going to include in the final development plan, and work will start in September, said Vikas Gupta, managing director, HSIIDC.
At Wednesday’s roundtable, a developer said that the government had been asked to involve a banker or a consortium of banks to ease financing. A single window clearance system for project has also been also requested to avoid delays in project approvals.
He added: that the industry also wants the administration to develop sound infrastructure in the Global City, as it will be important for its success. It can be on the lines of IMT Manesar, where infrastructure was developed before the industry came in.
Mian developers present at the meeting included Devender Singh from DLF NCR, Amit Diwan from Hines NCR, Rajat Johar from RMZ Bengaluru, Dharmender Bhandari from Bestech, SK Syal from Bharti Realty, Ishtiyaq Ahmad from Godrej Properties, Basant Bansal from M3M, Harender Nagar from Paras Buildtech, Rohtash Goyal from Omaxe Developers and Kalyan Banerjee from Emaar India.
