Kuwait (Jahra): The Director of the Supply and Stores Department at the Ministry of Education, Matrouk Al-Mutairi, confirmed that the process of preparing to provide the school’s requirements, including textbooks, furniture and labour, is underway before the start of the new school year.
School budgets, explaining that textbooks have begun to gradually reach the Department of Supplies and Warehouses for distribution to schools.
Regarding the distribution of books for the educational stages in the various educational regions, Al-Mutairi stated that the distribution of books for the primary stage had been completed for the capital region, Mubarak Al-Kabeer, Jahra and Hawalli, and for the intermediate stage, books were distributed to schools in the Mubarak Al-Kabeer region, the capital, Jahra and Hawalli, and for the secondary stage, books were distributed to the capital regions.
Mubarak Al-Kabeer and Jahra and the distribution process are underway for the rest of the schools in the educational areas for students before the start of the new school year.
With regard to school furniture, he stated that more than 6 contracts for school furniture had been signed, part of these contracts have been supplied, and the entire quantity is being supplied in the coming days.
The needs of the new schools expected to be opened will also be provided, and their number ranges from 11 to 16 schools, and the new furniture will be distributed to operating schools that have a need due to the increase in the number of students or to replace damaged furniture.
As for the service contracts for guarding and cleaning, Al-Mutairi indicated that the signing of all guarding contracts for the schools of all educational districts had been completed, except for the Mubarak Al-Kabeer educational area, which will be signed in the coming days.
With regard to cleaning contracts, he indicated that contracts had been signed for all educational districts, except for the Capital Educational District, and they will also be signed in the coming days.
Al-Mutairi praised the efforts of all employees in the administration to complete the requirements of schools to prepare for the new academic year.
