A visitor in Dubai has been arrested and further sentenced to jail for period of ten (10) years, and followed by deportation for possessing and smuggling of 1.6 Kilograms of cocaine.

During this, the Dubai Court of First Instance has heard the case of the woman smuggled the drugs from Brazil after an unidentified person had arranged her a ticket and given her amount of $700 (Dh2.575) to make the delivery possible of the drugs to another person in Dubai.

In the previous November, a Customs officer in Dubai has suspected the woman on her arrival at the airport and her luggage was checked on arrival. The Customs officer added that, “while searching her luggage, I found a certain quantity of drugs that has been kept hidden inside one of a jacket. More drugs were also found hidden in other secret places inside the bag.”

Meanwhile, the suspect has claimed that who is unaware about all this and moreover didn’t know about the drugs and said that a person had given her this bag, which is to be delivered to someone in Dubai.

Dubai Police Prosecution has charged the suspect with possessing and smuggling of cocaine. She was arrested and has been sentenced to ten years in jail and has been levied fine of Dh50,000. In addition, she will be deported after serving her jail sentence.
