Dominica: Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit made announcement regarding cabinet reshuffle which can possibly take place to enhance the delivery of services to the citizens of Dominica.
PM Skerrit gave a hint on this during the press conference that was held on May 26, 2025 at the Ministry of Finance Conference Room and added that there is always a possibility after a couple of years, they observed a change of focus or priorities as the government have to shift things around.
He affirmed that there is quite a possibility that there will be a cabinet reshuffle, so that they can enhance or deliver their services to the people. He continued that being the Government of Dominica they cannot be indifferent to the complaints of the public because they are doing work on their behalf, as they know that he has his ears on the ground every single day.
PM Skerrit further mentioned that he is not unaware of the complaints of the people of Dominica as they know he have always responded to the issues. He said that the government needs to re-assess its priorities and the resources, as it has at its disposal and juxtapose them against what the people are saying.
He further stated that as they are working on people’s behalf, they must know what they want and how they want it. He cleared that if they can’t do it how they are supposed to do it, then they must explain to them why.
Prime Minister of Dominica also mentioned that there might occur resource issue or any technical issue, but they have to keep informing the public and let the public know that they have to take it along with them. He noted that his government cannot be ahead of the public or cannot remain behind them either.
PM Skerrit emphasized that they have to stay side by side with them because they have to work together. As it is something that he takes very seriously as Prime Minister and leader of the Labour Party.
He told the reporters that the public will be informed soon when reshuffling is happening as there will be some major changes also.
