The Acting Director of the Education and Testing Department in the Hawalli Traffic Department, Colonel Sheikh Nawaf Ahmed Al-Nawaf, continues the march of security work and participates in a number of security campaigns to control security and eliminate manifestations of chaos, whether in terms of youth recklessness and endangering the lives of others, or confiscating and impounding cars that are missing Security and safety conditions, in addition to controlling the movement of delivery bikes and other tasks entrusted to him, accompanied by his colleagues in the departments of education, testing and technical examination.

“Al-Rai” accompanied the intensive traffic security campaigns during the last period and monitored the efforts of the Ministry of Interior’s men to control the movement of roads, where it met Colonel Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad, to shed light on the efforts of the Education and Testing Department in qualifying motorists in general, and “Delivery” bikers in particular. After their number increased significantly, he confirmed that the administration, under the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled, and Undersecretary of the Ministry Lieutenant-General Anwar Al-Barjas, witnessed a quantum leap, especially after Major General Sheikh Fawaz Al-Khaled assumed the position of Assistant Director of Public Administration To Traffic for Education Affairs, where the process of teaching and testing delivery bike drivers were developed and expanded, which became available in all test departments in the governorates, after it was previously limited only to the Capital Examination Department.

Al-Nawaf revealed that 600 motorcycle driving licenses used for the “delivery” service had been completed within two months, expecting that this number would increase in the winter period, adding that “test departments in the governorates work according to one mechanism, by unifying work, as it was approved to test Motorcycles on Mondays and Thursdays of every week, in addition to the general and construction vehicle tests that take place on Sundays and Wednesdays, as we worked to unify the days to facilitate the process of testing the newly started and created bike, and we made sure that there was no test for a biker at the same time with a test A driver of a public or construction vehicle, in order to avoid accidents, God forbid, in the test, and a special site has been allocated for bicycles, away from the test of private cars, and close to the test sites of public and construction vehicles, which called for days to be separated.

He continued, “The restrictions on obtaining a delivery bike driver’s certificate have been eased, and the conditions are simple, that the applicant must be 18 years old or above, and without having an educational certificate. One of the procedures is that he conducts an eye examination first and then submits, according to the governorate and the competent department, the test form that he obtains (online) from the ministry’s website, and after an appointment is set for him, he is subject to the theoretical test, then the practical test. Certificate”.

He stated that “since the start of receiving applications for bicycle education, hundreds of delivery companies and restaurants owners have applied to obtain licenses for workers, as nearly 600 bicycle driving licenses were completed within two months, and we expect the number to increase during the winter period because the weather in the summer does not suit some of them.” And my advice to everyone is to abide by the law in terms of obtaining bike driving licenses that protect the driver from a traffic violation, and at the same time, we ensure that the bike rider has sufficient experience to drive, and this benefits him and protects him from the risk of accidents. As part of our efforts, we have allocated a site within the training departments to suit those who wish to obtain a driving license.”

Exam fees range from 10 to 35 dinars

With regard to training applicants before the test, Colonel Nawaf Ahmed Al-Nawaf said, “This matter is up to the applicant, as there is no legal period for it, and in the test departments, there are motorcycles available for the test,” noting that “the training fees on motorcycles are 10 dinars, and the fees Applying for the test is 5 dinars for the first time, then 10 dinars for the second time, if the applicant fails, and the fees rise until they reach 35 dinars.”

He stated that “the test takes place in two shifts, morning, from 8 to 12 in the afternoon, and evening from 12:30 to 4:00 in the afternoon,” stressing that “the conditions for driving are simple, and the most important thing is to wear a helmet to protect against accidents, and as for the rest of the preventive matters, it is up to To the cyclist, it is important not to use the mobile phone while driving, and to pay attention to the road because most accidents occur due to lack of attention.”

A campaign every Wednesday to deter recklessness and violators

Colonel Nawaf Al-Ahmad touched on the traffic security campaigns, saying that “the Department of Education and Testing carries out a campaign on Wednesday of every week in one of the regions, for a period of approximately 3 hours, under the directives of Minister Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled and Undersecretary of the Ministry Lieutenant-General Anwar Al-Barjas, with the aim of confirming the rule of law in The violators are referred to the competent authorities, to hold them accountable by all legal means, and to ensure the presence of watchful eyes on the roads always, in order to ensure the safety and security of society.

Development of the work “Teaching and Testing”

Colonel Nawaf Al-Ahmad commended the efforts of Brigadier General Sheikh Fawaz Al-Khaled, in developing work in the Education and Testing Department since he took over the duties of its administration. Whoever wants to obtain a driving license, but after obtaining permission from the Traffic Department to accompany the person who owns the training form, and the order has now been applied, as the concerned person can take a form from the General Department of Education in his own name as he is the guardian of the trainee, and the only condition for that is that He has had a driver’s license for 5 years, and it is very simple, and we have witnessed a number of such cases, where parents and husbands obtained approvals to train their relatives.”

A future plan to upgrade the level of exams

Colonel Nawaf Al-Ahmad said, “We aspire, under the instructions of the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for the Traffic Sector, Major General Jamal Al-Sayegh, and the Assistant Director General for Education Affairs Major General Sheikh Fawaz Al-Khaled, that all test departments in all governorates will be exemplary and live up to the aspirations of citizens, and we have a future plan to make the test departments a competitive model.” It is in developed countries, and we are in the process of developing all departments, in terms of buildings, test yards, and equipment that are used by trainers.”
