Accordingly, children’s toy stores are among the most popular stores during the days of Eid, and official data indicate that the volume of Kuwait’s imports of children’s toys amounted to about 54.3 million dinars during the past year, compared to 43.63 million dinars in 2020.
Some shop owners believe that the popularity of the children’s game sales season during the holidays is controlled by a number of factors, most notably the timing of the season, travel movement, and prices. And therefore affected the movement of sales.
Shop owners mentioned that sales are in a state of stagnation and are not in the same purchasing power as was the case during the celebration of national holidays when most families were spending the holidays in the country.
While the shop owners agreed that the purchasing movement would be affected during Eid al-Adha this year, they stressed that the holidays remain the best season for them in general.
Regarding prices this year, shop owners indicate that all products globally have witnessed some increase in their prices, and accordingly, children’s toys have been affected as well, but they consider it an acceptable increase compared to previous years, considering the increase in prices as affecting the purchasing power of any product negatively, as shop owners indicated the effect of opening a number of A large number of shops operating in the activity negatively affected the purchasing movement, pointing out that the openings created a state of strong competition, but it was not reflected in the prices due to the global rise in these commodities.
