Dubai, UAE – Dubai is set to welcome the world’s tallest wellbeing resort, ‘Therme Dubai,’ as part of the ambitious Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033.
Announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE, the landmark project will rise to a height of 100 metres and be located at Zabeel Park.
Expected to open in 2028, the project aims to enhance urban biodiversity and promote environmental sustainability while offering a world-class wellness experience for residents and visitors.
Dubai has allocated Dh2 billion for the development, which will include an interactive park and the world’s largest indoor botanical garden. The resort is designed to accommodate up to 1.7 million visitors annually.
A Wellness Haven in the Heart of Dubai
Spanning 500,000 square feet, ‘Therme Dubai’ will feature three core areas dedicated to ‘restoring, relaxing, and playing.’
The concept aligns with Dubai’s broader vision to create a more pedestrian-friendly and community-focused city, ensuring access to wellness and recreational facilities for all.
“This innovative project reflects our commitment to enhancing urban biodiversity and environmental sustainability, and creating enriching experiences for Dubai’s residents and visitors,” Sheikh Hamdan stated.
A Greener Future for Dubai
Dubai’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its recent green initiatives. The Dubai Municipality recently announced that 216,500 trees were planted across the emirate in 2024, marking a 17% increase from the previous year.
This effort translates to an average of 600 trees being planted daily, contributing to the city’s goal of improving air quality, increasing shaded areas, and promoting urban greenery.
The wellbeing resort is part of Dubai’s broader initiative to enhance the quality of life for its residents. The Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033, launched in May 2024, aims to position the emirate as the best place to live globally.
The strategy focuses on making Dubai a pedestrian-, environment-, and family-friendly city, ensuring that essential services are accessible within 20 minutes for all residents.
Expanding Public Amenities and Green Spaces
As part of the strategy, Dubai is planning extensive developments in public amenities, including over 200 new parks, an extension of cycling tracks along beaches by 300%, and an increase in the length of night swimming beaches by 60%.
Additionally, a new beach will be designated exclusively for women, further enhancing inclusivity in recreational spaces.
The construction of ‘Therme Dubai’ reflects Dubai’s ongoing commitment to transforming urban spaces into sustainable, health-focused environments.
By combining cutting-edge wellness facilities with ecological preservation efforts, the project is poised to set new benchmarks for urban development in the region.
With Dubai continuously pioneering new initiatives to enhance its residents’ lifestyle and environmental sustainability, ‘Therme Dubai’ is expected to become a landmark attraction, further solidifying the emirate’s reputation as a global leader in innovative urban planning and wellbeing-focused projects.
