One of the Kuwait moto surf players ‘Abdul Razzaq Al-Baghli’ took back his name from the Emirates International Motosurf Championship in order to avoid competing with an Israeli competitor.
There was 34 competitors present there, with a range of countries are taking part in the championship, which began on Saturday in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi.
After quitting, he shared one of his videos in which he explained that why he took this decision to pull out from water sports events was consistent with Kuwait’s motive of “persistent support for the Palestinian cause”.

In Contrast, Tariq Al-Shaya, a member of Kuwait’s supreme Coordinating Committee for Anti-Zionism and Normalisation, applauded the sportsman: “Al-Baghli’s decision is a place that will be engraved in the records of history with gold letters.”
“Removal of the Zionist occupation starts with international isolation, which Kuwaiti sportsmen have done in teams and individual games.”
“This is the message which is shared by each Kuwaiti resident in which they convey in all fields that Palestine will endure, your occupation will get cease, and Jerusalem will remain Palestine capital for all time, he said.
According to the member of Kuwait National Assembly, Ahmed Al-Hamad, Al-Baghli’s withdrawal from the motor surf competition and this withdrawal confirm the confidence of Kuwait youth that how conscious they are towards their country’s affairs.
“His decision indicates that Kuwait’s strong and decisive stance against the Zionist entity – it is a direct answer to all those who demand normalization and decisive before the restoration of the Palestinian people’s rights,” he said.
Al-Baghli stated a number of Kuwaiti sportspeople who have said no to face Israeli opponents in the game without thinking about anything. Most recently 14, years old tennis player refused to play in an international tournament which was held in the United Arab Emirates.
In 2021, Mauritanian chess player, Abdel Rahim Al-Talib Muhammad, pulled out of the Junior World Cup after facing an Israeli player.
