‘The Palestinian-American man was found dead at the age of 80 on January 12 after being detained and handcuffed during an Israeli raid on an occupied West Bank village, Jiljilya.
According to the statement of his relatives, he was out in his village of Jiljilya until late at night and returned home when he was detained using rough treatment.
As per the statement of Palestinian health officials, his sudden demise was due to a heart attack.
According to the US, he was an American citizen and has asked Israel for clarification. Furthermore, the Israeli military said he was detained in the area after resisting a check and that he was later get released under the custody of the army.
Locals of the village say that Omar was also one of those Israeli soldiers stopped after entering Jiljilya, near Ramallah, in the early hours of January 12.
On the border of Jiljilya. Omar was heading towards his home after visiting relatives when soldiers stopped his car, blindfolded him, tied him, and led him away to a building under construction.
After the soldiers withdrew, one more man called Mr Asad was located dead in that building. A Plastic zip-tie was reportedly still around one of his wrists.
Doctors said they tried their best to save Mr Asad, but they found no pulse, and they added they found no signs of injury, and that’s why his death of reason is still unclear.
Furthermore, they said, “It is possible that he suffered from Heart Attack pr maybe some form of panic, and also mentioned that Mr Asad has previously undergone a heart surgery.”
According to the Israeli military, the troops had carried out an operation in the village area at night.
Moreover, an initial inquiry by the military force at the scene indicated that a Palestinian was charged after resisting a check during their inspection process, and he was released later at night.
On January 11, one Israeli soldier was injured by a suspected car-ramming attack by a Palestinian man outside the Jewish settlement of Neveh Tzuf, north of Ramallah. There were clashes between the Israeli troops and Palestinian students at Birzeit University.
