Dubai: Nearly 30 premeditated murders have been reported in Kuwait during the last 14 months, from January 2021 to February 2022, and as an average of two crimes every month, as per reports.
Although the number is very high as compared to the population, the efforts of police led to arrests in the vast majority of the cases and perpetrators were brought to justice.
Moreover, the increasing rates of these egregious crimes raise several questions: Why have murders increased? What are the reasons behind this sudden rise? Where is the preventive security of crime before it occurs?
In the initial two weeks of this month, two shocking incidents occurred. Last week, two sisters were arrested for brutally beheading their mother. According to preliminary information, reports said one of the girls drugged the mother and the other slit her throat and then put the head in a garbage bag inside the kitchen.
After an unspecified row that developed into a fight, the two girls admitted to having killed their mother.
This month on date 5, a man with his wife and daughter was killed in his home under mysterious circumstances in Kuwait, which promoted a massive search.
The lady’s brother found the family’s bodies in their house in the area of Al Ardiya in Al Farwaniya governorate, citing a security source.
As per some initial inspection, they found that the crime was committed four days before, and the smell of the corpses spread in the place.
However, after some days, the Police of Kuwait reported that they found the prime suspect to kill three members of the same family, and reports also indicated that the suspect belongs to India. Police arrested him in Sulainiya following investigations after he was identified using CCTV cameras from nearby homes. Police also found KD300 cash and the gold that the suspect had stolen from the house after committing the murder.
