Palestinian deaths climb as tensions with Israel spiral

Nearly five Palestinians have been killed in the past 24 hours following operations by Israel to crack down on militants after a spate of fatal attacks on Israelis

As per Palestinians, two youngsters were killed in the northern occupied West Bank on Thursday during an Israeli raid.

On Wednesday, one of the teenagers and a lawyer were among three shot dead elsewhere in the West Bank as tensions soared.

Last week, Israeli forces stepped up operations after a Palestinian killed two Israelis at a bar in Tel Aviv.

According to the Israeli prime Minister Naftali Bennett,’ the security forces would be given “complete independence of action in order to beat the terror though he did not specify what that meant.

A surge of invasions by Israeli Arabs and Palestinians in Israel in the past three weeks has gone 12 Israelis and two Ukrainians dead. It has been one of the most bloodstained periods of its kind for years, imposing the country on edge.

A total of twenty Palestinians, many identified as a gunman, have been killed since the time Israelis swept into the West Bank. They have been centred on the Jenin district, where two Palestinians carried out attacks in Israel.

According to the Palestinian health ministry, two Palestinian youths were killed there on Thursday morning. An Israeli army spokesperson expressed soldiers opened fire after being shot at and attacked with improvised explosive devices (IEDs), Reuters news agency reported.

On Wednesday, a 14-year-old Palestinian, who Israel spoke had thrown a petrol bomb at soldiers, was shot dead near Bethlehem.

Another Palestinian, whose age was 20 and was killed following clashes near Ramallah, where Israel stated its forces arrested three Palestinians who were planning an attack against Israelis in the coming days.

According to Israel, one of those arrested was a fugitive member of the militant group Hamas who was blamed for shooting dead an Israeli in 2015 and had recently run from Palestinian custody.
