Dubai: One of the yoga instructors hailed from Dubai, broke all the Guinness World Records for holding the longest upside-down scorpion (Vrischikasana) pose from 29 minutes and four seconds.
Yash Moradiya, 22, had practiced the stunt for five years. He wanted to attempt the record to raise awareness about the importance of yoga.
That was the scorpion position, mainly, is all about stability. The trick of that pose is one, the longer we hold the pose, the better we learn to establish the mental resilience to survive any critical situation we face in life with grace, as per Yash’s interview.

He said: Yoga has the power to transform your physical and mental well-being, driving us to unlock the hidden talent of our bodies away from limiting thoughts.
Yash stated that you really need excellent mental strength if you want to hold the scorpion position. “The challenge was stabilizing the mind after the first five minutes. While my body started to shake shortly after I went into the pose, it was focusing the inner strength that kept me going,” he said.
He said he practiced the stunt daily for three hours over the last five years in order to train himself for the record.
Yash has been into yoga since he was eight years old. He also won many awards in yoga and several championships for his extraordinary performance in yoga.
He even studied philosophy and ancient knowledge of the practice to understand its roots. He realised that there is only one key to holding yoga poses for a long time: ‘ meditation’.
