Bahrain: A medical team from the departments of ear, nose and throat surgery with brain and nerve surgery at Salmaniyah Medical Complex led by Dr Jalal Al Marzouk, consultant of ear, nose, and throat surgery, was able to achieve a medical achievement that represents saving the life of a patient suffering from cyst tumour in the bottom of the cranium N nose way and no head surgery Using a nasal scope.
The 7-year-old Bahraini patient had been suffering from severe headaches and dizziness for two consecutive years. MRI and C-ray tests performed showed a patient with a large pancreas tumour.
Therefore it was decided to perform a surgery for the patient to remove the tumour in a modern way by a joint medical team of the ear, nose, throat and brain surgery department, and the medical team was able to perform a very precise operation during which the tumour was completely eradicated using the nasal binoculars where the process was successful.
After the patient’s review of outpatient clinics, the patient indicated that all the mentioned symptoms had disappeared, and she had returned to her normal state.
Dr. Jalal Al Marzouk, an ear, nose and throat consultant, stated that this modern method suggests a large cavity surgery in the head and is done using a nasal scope. This advanced method also features fewer complications and a shorter purification period than the traditional method.
