Bahrain: The Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control held at the Center’s headquarters in Riyadh on Sunday, March 19, the ninth meeting of the Supervisory Council of the Gulf Center for Diseases Prevention and Control in the presence of Dr Iglal Al-Alawi, Assistant Proxy for Public Health, representing the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The meeting discussed the mechanism of implementation and activation of the Center’s main programs, the priorities of the Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control for 2023-2025 AD, and the objectives and working mechanisms of the Executive Plan, all of which benefit Gulf communities and health institutions in the countries of the Cooperation Council, and during the meeting, the official website of the Center was inaugurated.
The meeting was attended by all representatives of the countries of the Council: from the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Dr Hussein Al-Rand, from the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr Iglal Al-Alawi, from Saudi Arabia, Dr Abdullah Al-Qawizani, from the Sultanate of Oman, Dr Amal Al-Ma’ani, from the State of Qatar, Dr Sheikh Muhammad Al-Thani, and from the State of Kuwait, Dr Manzar Al-Hassawi, in the presence of Saudi Arabia The General Director of the Gulf Health Council Mr Sulaiman Al-Dakheel and the CEO of the Center Dr. / Basi Pantinen.
The creation of the Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control is fortunate to have been endorsed by His Majesty the leaders of the Cooperation States when it was raised to the position of the Supreme Council in its 41st session (Alala, January 2021), where the leaders agreed to establish the “Gulf Center for Disease Protection and Control”, and rapidly activate it to coordinate joint Gulf work in Public and preventive health, and to be a gulf observatory to monitor the spread of epidemics such as “Corona” and others. The Center should be under the umbrella of the Health Council of the Cooperative Council states.
