Dozens of Protestors broke out in front of the refugee camp and started protesting against the Palestinian Authority. The protest took place on Friday night on the street to the refugee camps in the West Bank following the violent arrest of the son of Zakari Zubebi, a famous Fatah gunman held in Israeli prison.
Zubeidi, the former commander of al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, said that the armed wing of the ruling Fatah faction was one of the six Palestinian security prisoners who escaped from Giloba prison several weeks ago.
However, the Israel Police and IDF recaptured all six of the culprits.
Zubeidi has been charged out with carrying out terrorism against Israel.
In recent years, the largest anti-PA protests are yet another sign of rising tensions between the PA and unruly Fatah shooters and activists, particularly in Jenin Refugee Camp and Balata Refugee Camp near Nablus.
Zubeidi calls from Jenin Refugee camp, where he was a “hero” in the eyes of local residents, primarily because of his high profile background and rare escape from an Israeli jail.
The activists and gunmen have frequently accused the PA of “abandoning” them withholding financial aid and jobs.
The protest started on Friday night after the PA police officers in Jenin were caught in camera footage where they were beating and arresting Zubeidi’s son, Ahmed.
According to the source of PA security that Ahmed and other two adults from Jenin Refugee Camp named Ayham sa’di and Aws al-Shalabi were stooped at a checkpoint where they needed to go for a routine checkup was suspected of stealing a car.
According to the police officers, three men resisted arrest and assaulted police officers, adding that the suspect car also hit the police officer’s vehicle.
A video of the violent arrest and beating by the police got viral on multiple social media platforms.
Shooters are also doing Openfire. However, no one was hurt.
In Balata Refugee Camp, many gunmen open fire in the air at the camp during the protest.
