Kuwait has declared that it will ban the new mystery thriller film adaption of Agatha Christie’s whodunnit “Death of the Nile” in which several Hollywood stars as well as Israeli actresses “Gal Gadot”.
As per the Kuwait information ministry spokesperson, the decision to ban this Hollywood film, “Death of the Nile “, was taken by the demands on the social media platforms demanding the ban, and then the decision was taken on February 6, on Sunday.
The film directed by and co-starring ‘Kenneth Branagh‘ is pending for this month in the United States (US).
The story is based on the most famous British author ‘Christie, anointed the ‘Queen of Crime”.
According to the Information Ministry, the cinemagoers in Kuwait would not watch it.
People who used Social Media platforms pointed to Gadot’s giving honour to the Israeli army and her criticism of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas in the 2014 war in Gaza.
Due to the war, some 2,251 people lost their lives on the Palestinian side, and most of the people were civilians, and 74 on the Israeli side, majority of were soldiers.
Gadot is a very famous actor for her lead role in 2017 in her Hollywood blockbuster “Wonder Woman” banned in some Arab nations.
She has often faced criticism on social media because she did her mandatory service in the Israeli army.
Kuwait is staunchly against normalising relations with Israel, unlike its Gulf neighbours, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain and a supporter of the Palestinian cause for a long time.
