Cairo: Preparations of Ramadan commences in Cairo, and Kuwait has banned iftar banquets inside all mosques during the upcoming holy months of Muslims, Ramadan, and they took it as a safety measure against COVID-19, as per reports.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments) and Islamic Affairs has highlighted the ban in a circular that, however, they allowed the benevolent distribution of pre-cooked meals they can eat outside mosques for people and they can eat that meals after sunset when daily fasting ends, as per reports.
However, they added that yesterday’s ministry has banned setting up the Ramadan tents within the precincts of mosques on health grounds.
Moreover, the ministry will not be flexible for handling any violation of the circular which is issued for health grounds and organisational, especially since the coronavirus repercussions still affect some sectors, reported by sources.
They added that the ban imposed on hosting the Ramadan tents in mosques’ vicinity aims to head off gatherings in indoor places.
According to the sources, the COVID-19 and its variants still exist after a significant decline in their daily infections and return to pre-pandemic activities.
However, before this month, the Kuwaiti government stated that all mosques would be back to normal as coronavirus infections are not that high and ease anti-virus curbs. They also said that worshippers are no longer need to follow any physical distancing in mosques.
As per today’s data, the total cases of COVID-19 in Kuwait are 6.28L, and 2,553 nearly lost their lives, and it is better to give attention so that citizens can avoid any further number of COVID-19.
Even yesterday, Kuwait banned all the live broadcasts of prayers from mosques during Ramadan. The ministry also banned the use of cameras at mosques so that they could avoid making films of Imams and worshippers during their time of prayers and banned the live streaming too of prayers, not with only cameras but also with all kinds of media.
