Pakistani teen attempts suicide in Kuwait

Cairo/Kuwait: One of the Pakistani teenagers killed himself after committing suicide in the family’s house in Kuwait, and Kuwait has witnessed a sudden rise in suicide cases in the country, as per the local media reports.

The Father of the victim told police that his son was just 17 years old and he committed suicide in their house in the area of Khaitan in the Farwaniya governorate, reports stated, quoting a security source.

When police reached the place, they found the boy’s body hanging from a room ceiling by a rope.

The source added that the body was finally handed over to the forensic medicine department in the hospital, and they registered a case as a name of suicide.

However, the motive for the suicide of the boy is still unknown.

Moreover, registering suicide cases is very common nowadays in Kuwait, and Kuwait media has reported a series of suicide deaths and attempts.

According to the official data of Kuwait that nearly forty-one suicide cases and 43 suicide attempts were registered the last year in 2021, and a country of around 4.6 million people, of which more than half of the people are foreigners.

Last year, in 2021, Kuwait sources reported that immigrants attempting suicide face deportation after a reported rise in such bids in the country.

Moreover, The Interior Ministry of Kuwait has issued clear and straightforward instructions to security men in order to deal firmly with these cases,” a source was quoted by Tribunal Community as saying at the time.

Moreover, Kuwait also boosted its security on the Sheikh Jaber Causeway, one of the world’s longest bridges, after an increase in suicide attempts on the site, as per the reports of local media.
