UAEs Embassy in Tbilisi organises charity project called Ramadan 2022

Ahead of Ramadan, one of the charity events is organised by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Tibilisi, with the support of the Red Crescent Society of the United Arab Emirates.

The donation was of a total of 440 food parcels, which were donated to the Administration of All Muslims of Georgia in a bid to distribute to those who are in need. This step is taken as a part of humanitarian activities based on the directives and vision of the UAE leadership.

The event, organized at Juma Mosque in Tbilisi, was attended by Muslim families, the Mufti of Eastern Georgia, Mr Etibar Eminov, Sheikh Mr Ramin Igidov and the Charge d’affaires of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates to Georgia, Ms Munira Almarzooqi.

The Head f the UAE also congratulated the families who were present a the mosque during the Holy month of Ramadan and fr the upcoming Eid al-Fitr and also highlighted the efforts of the UAE leadership who are taking the initiative in order to provide humanitarian help to people globally, regardless of their ethnic, religious or geographical affiliation.

Ms Munira Almarzooqi also commented that the volume of foreign assistance provided by the UAE governmental and non-governmental organizations reaches 60 billion USD.

In this initiative, the head of mission also took the initiative in order to provide 1 billion Meals – the distribution of food parcels, which was established at the start of the Holy Month of Ramadan and implemented by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) seeking at providing food support in 50 countries around the world, which will make a significant contribution to the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

Moreover, the Charge d’affaires declared the United Arab Emirates (UAE) the first non-Western country in 2010, which ranked first among the top 10 countries in the world in terms of humanitarian aid per capita and in 2019, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) called the United Arab Emirates the largest humanitarian aid donor worldwide for the seventh time in a row.

At the need, Ms Munira Alamarzooqi thanked the government of all UAE and Georgia that are taking the initiative to provide them with an opportunity to assist families who are in need during the Holy month of Ramadan and expressed readiness to continue this kind of cooperation in the future.

Even all the Mulsim religious leaders wished the government and people of UAE a blessed and happy Ramadan, and at the same time, they thanked the Charge daffaires for the support provided by the Embassy.
