World: Muslims all over the Globe are getting into the festive Eid spirit as another holy month of Ramadan completes. Traditionally, Eid ul-Fitr is a three-day feast that celebrates the end of the fasting month but can be longer or shorter depending on the nation. Eid is a time of family, friends, prayer, and festivities.

Ramadan is about to say goodbye to all Muslims, and the most auspicious and beautiful celebration, “Eid-Ul-Fitr”, is going to take place today or 03rd May 2022, as per the crescent moon sighting. The crescent moon is likely to be seen on 01st/2nd May 2022 in the evening period, and Eid-Ul-Fitr is likely to be observed on 2nd/3rd May 2022 around the world.

The Eid Prayer 

Ruling:

  • Sunnah Mu’akkadah (emphasized sunnah) for
    those whom jumu’ah is obligatory
  • Mandub (recommended) for everyone else

 

How to:

  • Can be prayed from the time Duha enters;
  • cannot be prayed from the time Dhuhr enters
  • No adhan nor iqamah
  • First rak’at has 6 extra takbeerat (total of 7),
    hands are only raised for the first/opening
    takbir
  • Second rak’at has 5 extra takbeerat (total of
    6), hands are NOT raised for any takbir

Eid Al-Fitr
• Doing ‘ibadah during the night
• Ghusl from the last sixth of the night, but doing it after Subh is another mustahabb act
• Putting on perfume (other than women if the women are going to the masjid)
• Wearing new and nice clothes
• Walking to the masjid
• Eating before the prayer (preferably dates)
• Leaving [for the masjid] after the sun rises
• Repeating the takbiraat from when you leave until the prayer
• Taking different routes to and from the masjid
