Dubai: As per local media, two Syrian workers were killed in Kuwait following a row with an Egyptian shawarma chief inside the restaurant they were working for.
One more worker who was also from Syria was injured in the crime, and his health is not stable right now, but he is currently in doctor’s observation.
According to the Egyptian chef, he has had a row with the three Syrians over work-related issues in the restaurant.
As per the sources, both sides were involved in a heated argument right before Iftar, which developed into a fist fight that ended up with the chef grabbing the shawarma knife and attacking the three men, killing two and injuring one.
The killer ran away from the scene after the crime but later surrendered to the police.
A deliberate murder case was registered against him, and he was referred to the authorities to take necessary legal action.
This case is very similar to 2016’s; at that time, two were killed, and one got injured. The only difference was that the Lebanese security agencies uncovered the bodies of two Kuwaitis, who were evidently murdered as they sustained gunshot injuries in different parts of their bodies, inside the employees’ house at Laredo Restaurant in Dhahar Al-Wahsh, East Beirut.
Primary research indicated the restaurant belonged to the victims. At the same time, the possibilities surrounding the murder were not immediately familiar— whether it was politically aimed or an act of terrorism or criminal action.
According to sources, the victims were recognised as Hussein Nassar (born in 1958) and Nabeel Ghareeb (born in 1960).
It showed the security officers cordoned off the place before starting investigations in order to show the circumstances and justifications behind the killing. The Head of the investigation, Rami Abdullah, was at the crime scene during the initial investigation.
Some reports also indicated that the wife of one victim lost contact with him in the past two days, prompting her to report to the embassy, which contacted security agencies, resulting in the discovery of the victims’ bodies.
