Cairo: A five years old girl child had drowned in a swimming pool on the first day of the Muslim Eid Al Fitr in Saudi Arabia, as per her family’s statement.
The family’s happiness and joy on the occasion of Eid turned into distress after finding that the child had flooded Monday evening in the pool inside a rest house in Al Majarda governorate in the Asir region in south-western Saudi Arabia, as per the reports and quoting by her father.
According to her father, it was the time when we were celebrating Eid Al Fitr at one of the rest houses; my family and I were shocked by the flooding of our daughter Ward in the pool. We do not go against the decision of Allah.
However, no other details were provided by her father about the circumstances surrounding the child’s drowning.
Ward, whose name means in Arabic “roses”, was buried on Tuesday after a special death prayer was performed for her at a local mosque.
Eid Al Fitr, which marks the end of the Islamic fast month of Ramadan, started in Saudi Arabia on Monday amid the relaxation of restrictions earlier charged due to COVID-19.

The announcement made by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development that there will be mainly four days of Al-Fitr holidays for the private and non-profit sectors in the Kingdom.
