Mumbai, Dubai: One of the Mumbai Shiv Sena MLAs, Ramesh Latke, died due to a cardiac arrest in Dubai, as per the reports of a party functionary.
He was just 52; Ramesh Latke died late at night on Wednesday in Dubai, where he had gone with his family on vacation.
Ramesh Latke was a two-time Sena lawmaker from the Andheri East assembly constituency in Mumbai. Before becoming an MLA, Latke was also a corporator in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation or BMC.
As per reports, his body would likely be brought back to Mumbai today (Thursday).
According to the Sena functionary, we have informed the Chief Minister of Mumbai, Uddhav Thackeray and other senior party leaders about initiating the procedure to bring back his body. There is a hope that it will be carried back on Thursday.
Showing sadness over Latke’s death, the party spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi remembered him for his work, especially during the pandemic and his connections with people from his constituency.
As per her tweet, “Saddened and shocked to hear about the passing of Shri Ramesh Latke ji. His constant energy, dedicated work during COVID & connection with the constituency were immense. He will be missed & he has gone too soon. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and colleagues,” she tweeted.
