Dubai: One Dubai residence lady and her dog was found dead in a villa. The woman was living on a rented out floor of a larger villa, which was meant to house a single family.
According to Dubai Police, A silent killer seemed to have taken their lives.
According to Colonel Makki Salman Ahmed Salman, Director of the Crime Scene Department, “The Operations Room received a report in Al Barsha about the killing of a woman and her dog and the wound of her Filipino friend, and that they live in a small part of one of the villas, which is rented by an Asian person, and there is more than one family in the villa.”
As per the interview of the Victim’s friend, she suspected poisoning from a place they had eaten the previous night. The dog had been fed the same food.
However, as per investigations that it was not the reason for death. Forensic reports revealed that the inhalation of carbon monoxide paralyzed caused their death.
The police later found a hidden electric generator used by the primary renter. The generator was being used after the administration cut off the house’s electricity as more than one family was living in the villa.
When the police started the generator, smoke served the hallways and rooms within minutes.
Carbon monoxide, which medical encyclopedias have described as a “silent killer,” is a deadly gas. It is colourless, odourless, and tasteless & leads to death if disclosed to it for a long period of time. It can choke a person in a poorly ventilated area.
According to Salman, “It enters the body through the respiratory system and reaches the blood when it binds to haemoglobin molecules found in red blood cells, stopping them from binding with oxygen, Salman said.
He also stated that the victims were slowly paralysed because of inhaling carbon monoxide gas. However, the Filipina lady managed to run as her bed wasn’t as close to the generator.
Salman alerted citizens of failing to adhere to health and safety systems for generators. He urged them to take notice and inspect devices that work inside the house, such as generators, and maintain them periodically.
