Syria: Today (Saturday), Syrian President Bashar al-Assad performed the blessed Eid al-Adha prayer at the mosque of the great companion Abdullah bin Abbas in the city of Aleppo (northern Syria), the first visit by President al-Assad to Aleppo since the outbreak of the war in Syria in 2011, according to what reported.
As per reports that President al-Assad performed the prayer, accompanied by a number of senior officials in the Syrian government, a group of Islamic scholars and an audience of citizens.
After the end of the prayer, President al-Assad said to the people of Aleppo, during the past years, I stopped visiting Aleppo, but I did not stop communicating with its children, and in every meeting, they used to tell me (Aleppo misses you and we miss you), so I would answer that if the issue was a longing issue only, I would have lived in Aleppo But it is the duty of the official to come, especially in such circumstances.
President al-Assad added that “Aleppo has always been a great city throughout history, with its history, architecture, creativity and patriotism of its people, and because it was also a target of war, and it was in the direction of concentrating the main efforts of the regular and irregular enemy armies and clients, whether they were from the people of this region or from other places, and because it is great, he decided Its people have to persevere in this war and face and decide to win the battle and to live after this battle and to win the battle of reconstruction.”
