Municipality: “Development of Mubarakiya” New areas are added to current site without prejudice to it

And she explained in a statement that “the competent sector in the municipality harnessed all the technical capabilities and energies regarding the project to develop Mubarakiya markets in order to complete the project and implement components in a new site added to the current site without prejudice to the current Mubarakiya markets to preserve its historical legacy by adding new areas to these markets,” stressing That “development has nothing to do with the reconstruction of the damaged part of the fire until it returns to the way it was,” and that “there is confusion between development and reconstruction.”

She pointed out that “the project to develop Mubarakiya markets is proceeding according to what is planned according to the schedule and is not hindered by the reconstruction of the damaged part of the fire, which aims to return this part of the markets to what it was before,” pointing out that “the municipality has agreed to start the work.

Contracting for the reconstruction of the damaged area by a joint team from the municipality, the Ministry of Finance and the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, taking into account the application of all the requirements of the firefighting force, and currently, the joint team has begun to take approvals from the regulatory authorities to implement the reconstruction.

And she indicated that “the new project includes a mosque, a hotel and an open theatre with a heritage design and the development of the municipality’s garden, and that the design of the new project was nominated to enter the International Architecture Festival that will be held in Portugal because it has the advantage of integrating the spirit of heritage and the future.”
