In the implementation of the instructions of the Minister of Interior and the Undersecretary, under the supervision and presence of the Undersecretary of the Traffic and Operations Sector, Major General Jamal Al-Sayegh, and the Assistant Director of Technical Affairs, Brigadier General Muhammad Farraj Al-Adwani, the men of the Technical Inspection Department, led by its Director, Brigadier General Mishaal Al-Suwaiji, launched a traffic campaign, which began by cordoning off the area, and resulted in the release of hundreds of violations for expatriates driving Vehicles without driving licenses, and seized vehicles not suitable for driving on highways, as well as those that carry more passengers than the allotted and permitted.
Al-Rai accompanied the traffic campaign, where the Al-Mutlaa road leading to Al-Abdali was cordoned off, and it followed the technical inspection men in the traffic during the issuance of violations and placing an administrative seizure block on vehicles that lacked the conditions of security and durability.
In this regard, the Director of the Technical Inspection Department, Brigadier General Mishaal Al-Suwaiji, revealed to the media that the campaigns of the General Traffic Department, represented by the Technical Inspection Department, are continuing in all governorates of the country to educate motorists of the need to abide by traffic laws and regulations, which aim to protect lives and property from exposure.
To the danger of driving a dilapidated vehicle that lacks security and safety conditions, especially when we are at the beginning of the summer season, in which vehicle breakdowns abound, and for which they have to perform periodic maintenance in terms of tires, general paint, and non-emission of smoke, due to its impact on the environment.
“During the traffic campaigns, we monitor violators, especially recklessness, recklessness, making annoying sounds, misleading the windows, and not renewing vehicle licenses or driving a vehicle without a driver’s licence,” Al-Suwaiji explained.
