Today, Tuesday, the great Egyptian artist, Rajaa Hussein, died at the age of 83 after a long struggle with illness.
Ashraf Zaki, the captain of the acting professions, confirmed on his page on the social networking site “Twitter” the death of the artist and wrote: “The great artist, Rajaa Hussein, is under the protection of God.”
Raja Hussein was born on February 1, 1937, in Qalyubia Governorate. She began her artistic career with the Najib Al-Rihani Troupe in 1958. She worked in radio series before breaking into the world of cinema and drama, and the late artist presented many works of art.
The late artist also worked on radio and television as an actress in radio and television series, and she is married to actor Saif Abdel Rahman.
Earlier, the artist, Rajaa Hussein, underwent a stomach operation in the last period after she was exposed to a health crisis due to high liver enzymes.
It is noteworthy that the National Film Festival was keen to honour the artist, Rajaa Hussein, in its last session last June, but she was absent from the honour due to her health crisis. Minor but, in fact, major roles.
She pointed out that Rajaa Hussein decided to leave the cinema twice in her career, one of them after marginalizing her role in the film Al-Muhajir and her desire to play a certain role.
She added that honouring Mrs Intisar Al-Sisi, the wife of the President of the Republic, last March was the culmination of Rajaa Hussein’s career, which the artist greatly celebrates.
