In continuation of the comprehensive security campaigns carried out by the Ministry of Interior throughout the country to impose the prestige and the rule of law and to prosecute violators and wanted persons, especially in the areas of Jleeb and Mahboula, the field sectors launched a surprise security campaign on Hawalli and Khaitan Square, led by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled, accompanied by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Lieutenant-General Anwar Al-Barjas, Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic and Operations Affairs Major General Jamal Al-Sayegh, Ministry of Interior Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Major General Abdullah Al-Rajeeb, and a number of specialized security leaders.
The security men participating in the campaign closed the areas of Maidan Hawally and Khaitan and made checkpoints at the entrances and exits, as well as the deployment of foot patrols to check the identities of people.
The campaign resulted in the arrest of a number of residency law violators and criminally wanted persons pending cases and without proof, and they were referred to the competent authority to take legal measures against them.
