On the occasion of the Christmas celebrations this year, the DA Sports Vybez (An Organization that works to promote and push sports forward in Dominica) has shared an update regarding the acknowledgement of the young talented athletes.
On the official social media account of the DA Sports Vybez organization posted a picture of an emerging Dominican Under-19 male cricketer named Alick Athanaze.
DA Sports further shared his extraordinary performance statistics and recognized his achievements in Dominican cricket at different levels.
According to the sources, Alick Athanaze was born in Dominica on December 7 (Seven) 1998, in Dominica.
Alick is a well-known left-handed Dominican cricketer who made his List A debut for the West Indies Under-19 cricket team in the 2016-2017 Regional Super 50 on January 25, 2017. Moreover, he was also named in the West Indies squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
Furthermore, in the appreciation post by DA Sports, the management shared the statistics and achievements that he has accomplished, such as,
– Alick has scored back-to-back consecutive centuries in the volcanoes tournament, after which he was appreciated and praised by the West Indian legendary All-Rounder Dwayne Bravo gifting his one of the branded bats to Alick.
– Alick has also put on a great show against the Bangladesh cricket team, where he scored 82 (Eighty-two) runs while representing West Indies A team.
– He has also participated in the Dream 11 VPL (Vincy Premier League) and St. Vincent Premier T10 League. He has specifically performed at his best during the premier leagues in Dominica, and the tournaments went well for him.
– His counterpart Kavem has accompanied Alick Athanaze during the tournaments. They both have performed exceptionally well in the combined Campuses and Colleges in the Super 50 cricket leagues.
– Alick and Kavem scored centuries during the super 50 tournaments and made their mark in the Dominican cricket association.
In addition, DA Sports also took it to praise the performance and contribution he has shown in his career so far.
The organization’s officials have confirmed that he has become an asset for Dominican cricket and that the nation expects him to grow and get nourished during his journey.
