Dominica: An update was shared by the officials of the People’s Republic of China on the latest bilateral meeting of Roosevelt Skerrit, the serving Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, and President Xi Jinping of China during an official visit.
The meeting was organised at the Great Hall of the People in China where both leaders had a conversation on the political and geo-political issues with strategies. In front of the media, both leaders shared their words and mentioned the strong ties between both nations and their friendship.
President Xi Jinping mentioned in his statement, that for China, Dominica is an important country in the region of Caribbean. Not only that but he sees Dominica as a good friend and a trustworthy partner for political ventures.
Xi Jinping said that Dominia and China shared a high level of political trust mutually as well as taking steps towards the issues of the core interest in the region that could affect both nations. Both countries are looking forward to collaborating on new development strategies as they have always been doing since the beginning of the political tie-ups.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit mentioned in his statement that it proved to be the right decision for Dominica to situate political relationships with China. The long-lasting relations saw many changes with time which gave fruitful results.
Roosevelt Skerrit said that China as a great country not only worked remarkably well in sectors of poverty alleviation and development but also contributed to the growth of Dominica and its people. He said that China highly worked to bring betterment and peace in many parts of the world.
Prime Minister Roosevelt also highlighted in his statement about the contribution and support of the government of China to Dominica at the time of the COVID-19 world pandemic. He mentioned how China firmly stood with Dominica in difficult situations and natural disasters.
Both nations shared strong political tie-ups for a long twenty years since the establishment of diplomatic relations officially. The relations of both nations stayed on the base of mutual trust, mutual support, and mutual respect. The leaders of both nations also witnessed the twentieth anniversary of the relationship between Dominica and China.
