St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew met with the Kittitian player – Mikyle Louis, who got selected for the West Indies Team. He expressed his pleasure and said that it was pleasure to have the player as he visited the Federal Cabinet this week.
Praising the player, Prime Minister Drew said that he is the first Kittitian to play the Test Cricket for the West Indies team. The young cricketer was honoured is unique way, as a road was named on his honour. A parcel of land was allocated to him.
In his honour, the South Stands were named after his name at the Warner Park Cricket Stadium in his honour.
PM Drew also thanked Minister of Sports – Samal Duggins for making collaboration with the Cabinet. He urged the fellow citizens to support Mikyle and wish him the best.

In light of the extraordinary accomplishments of the player from St. Kitts to play test cricket for the West Indies, the Ministry of Sport and the Creative Economy sought the cabinet’s support for national recognition of Mikyle Louis
Mikyle Louis’ achievements underscores his remarkable talent and also mark a significant milestone for cricket in St. Kitts. He has served as an inspiration for the young athletes across various disciplines to aspire them all for international success.
Mikyle Louis is a player aged-23 and has been named in the West Indies 15-member squad for their Tour of England in July 2024. The recognition follows the outstanding performance in the 2024 West Indies Championship, where he was the leading run-scorer with 682 runs from 14 innings in seven matches at an average of 48.71.
It is an impressive tally that includes three centuries, with two of the centuries which scored in a single match at the historic Warner Park Cricket Stadium. Mikyle was one of the only three players to score four or more half-centuries, that further highlighted the consistency and skills of the player.
The player is poised to potentially form a new opening partnership with Test Captain Kraigg Brathwaite during the tour of England.
