St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew unveils the photographs from the port of St. Kitts and Nevis, where the first contribution of disaster relief supplies was distributed to the hurricane impacted neighbouring islands.
Reportedly, they left the island St. Kitts and Nevis in the afternoon via the Captain Hugh Mulzac coast guard vessel of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. At the initial stage, their contribution comprised of 200 tarpaulins and a number of cases of bottled water.
Additionally with a purpose of providing the aid supplies, a contingent of five security officers has been deployed to assist in the response and considering the recovery efforts in the neighbouring islands.
However, the contribution marked the first response from the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis to the Windward Islands which was impacted by Hurricane Beryl.

The scenes shared by the Prime Minister Drew were from the shipment of tarpaulins and bottled water which were destined for the hurricane-impacted countries in the Windwards and the donations were coordinated by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
Considerably, the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis, through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), is putting efforts to prepare a shipment of disaster relief supplies. These will act as aid to the sister Caribbean Islands St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Grenada.
These islands have felt the devastating and destructive impact of Hurricane Beryl and the Government and people of St. Kitts and Nevis that stand in solidarity with them.
At present, Caribbean region is facing Hurricane Beryl and suffering from the disasters caused by the hydro natural calamity. Considering this, Prime Minister Drew shared a note earlier in which he mentioned that the reports of the devastation follow the passage of Hurricane Beryl in Grenada, Petite Martinique and Carriacou and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, particularly the Union Island which is distressing.
PM Drew assured that St. Kitts and Nevis continues to stand with the regional brothers and sisters and they are wholly committed to assist with recovery efforts. It is the time for all to band closer together as a Caribbean Community and show the Caribbean Unity.
The impacted Caribbean islands can be assured of the support and solidarity of the Government and people of St. Kitts and Nevis.
Notably, the CARICOM Heads of Government will convene an emergency meeting tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. to discuss Hurricane Beryl.
