St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew attended the installation ceremony of the new executive body of the Nurses Association, held recently.
Being a participant of the ceremony, PM Drew expressed that he recently attended the installation of the new executive body of the Nurses Association and shared the glimpses of the same on his official social media handle.
Adding further, Prime Minister Drew expressed that he wanted to take the opportunity to wish the Nurses a successful tenure as they carry out their mandate.
Reportedly, the nurses of the St. Kitts and Nevis Nurses Association celebrated the installation of its new executive over the weekend.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health Donated the Essential Mobility Aids to Ministry of Community Empowerment and Department of Aging and Disability. It was a significant contribution that consisted of 25 wheelchairs and 25 walkers.
Considerably, the generous donation was made possible through some previous assistance from the Republic of China (Taiwan), that underscores the Ministry of Health’s commitment in supporting the vulnerable communities.
During the ceremony, the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health – Curtis Martin said that this donation is a testament to the ongoing commitment to support and empower the elderly and disabled citizens.
He said that they will continue to collaborate with other ministries to provide the necessary resources and services to improve the quality of life for all.
The Ministry of Health further extended their gratitude to the Republic of China (Taiwan) for its invaluable support, that enabled the impactful donation. It emphasised that the partnership will exemplifies the positive outcomes that can be achieved through international cooperation and goodwill.
Director of the Department of Constituency Empowerment – Kelvina Salters will accept the donation on behalf of the Department of Constituency Empowerment and said that she thanked the Ministry of Health for the generous donation.
It was a symbolic work that they were doing and continued to do, it was to align the communities and community members with national initiatives. She mentioned that as they do the daily work, which is quite granular at the community level, that they have recognised the several vulnerable people who are in need of such donations.
