St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew arrived at the FLOW Grounds to show his support for the latest edition of 2024 of the Security Forces United FC Annual Crime Intervention Summer Soccer Camp.
PM Drew delivered brief words of encouragement to the young participants, who are imploring them to take full advantage of the lessons that are being taught.
The Prime Minister also praised the summer camp for creating a safe and nurturing environment that not only helps to advance the youth through sports but the one that includes the values of hard work and discipline to it.
Reportedly, the Prime Minister took time to show off his own skills with the football to the participants.
As per the sources, the annual camp is organised by the security forces and was supported by the Ministry of National Security, the Ministry of Sports, the Prime Minister’s Office and many other.
Considerably, the camp has lasted for two weeks that included training from coaches who hailed from England and the United States, which provided an environment that promoted involvement in sports, teamwork and discipline.
The training provided is an important activity that bolsters the crime prevention efforts. Following this Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis expressed his gratitude to all the involved officials and people for making the camp of 2024 a great success. He admitted that he had a lot of fun kicking the ball around.
Notably, the camp targets youth of age 07 to 17, from July 15, 2024 to July 26, 2024 and aims to provide constructive activities and promote values that support crime prevention and community engagement.
The camp is designed to engage the youth positively during summer break, with an objective to foster a safer environment through constructive activities and mentorship.
According to the police release, the families of participants welcomed the camp as a beneficial summer activity, that emphasised its role in offering valuable and opportunities for youth development.
Volunteers, sponsors and local authorities have strongly supported the initiative, by highlighting its significance in community building.
However, the organisations anticipated positive outcomes for participants and the community as the camp progresses. By investing in youth development and community relations, initiatives like the Crime Intervention Summer Soccer Camp that aims to contribute positively to St. Kitts and Nevis.
