St. Kitts and Nevis: Former Member of the Parliament (MP) for St. Christopher-04 and Minister of Government – Glenn ‘Ghost’ Phillip has passed away. To express condolences as sitting of the National Assembly was adjourned, before any substantive matters of discussion out of respect for him.
During the adjournment, Members on the Government benches included Prime Minister – Dr. Terrance Drew, present MP for St. Christopher-04 – Samal Duggins, Tourism Minister – Marsha Henderson and Konris Maynard who rose to their feet to offer their condolences.
Ministers present there gave tributes to Phillip’s contribution to the nation as a minister, as a past national basketball player and as a strong sports advocate.
Considering this Prime Minister Drew said that it is with great sadness that he learned of the passing of Glen “Ghost” Phillip. he extended his deepest condolences to his family and friends.
PM Drew also mentioned that he joined Glen as a candidate on the SKNLP ticket in 2013. Phillip was always supportive and encouraging. He added that his contribution towards the nation as a Member of Parliament and a prominent basketball player is profound and will be remembered always.
He further extended his gratitude on behalf the whole nation and said that he expresses a heartfelt thanks for all that he contributed. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Also, the National Assembly will reconvene on Friday, August 02, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
While giving tribute to late Glen “Ghost” Phillip, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis and Parliamentary Representative for St. Christopher-08 – Dr. Terrance Drew and other officials expressed their administration for Phillip’s Service and dedication, signaling the indelible mark he left on the country through his work in Parliament and his mentorship of the nation’s youth.
Drew added that his mark will be written on this nation. It will never be forgotten because he had the opportunity to serve in the Parliament, and of course, the permission by his people through an electoral process. In other words, they voted for him in the majority from Constituency-04 to represent them in the Parliament House.
He added further that the government under his leadership is also grateful for Phillip’s contributions, noting his involvement in both the legislative and executive branches to ensure that the government responded to the needs of the people.
