According to the Israeli Defense Minister, “Benny Gantz”, Israel will be going to strengthen their ties with the Palestinian government despite having no intention of a peace deal.
As per the reports, the statements were made at the Knesset, the Israeli Parliament, in exchange for a no-confidence motion over Gantz’s conferences with Palestinian President “Mahmoud Abbas” in the latest months.
According to Gantz, he told Parliament Prime Minister “Naftali Bennett” will not be going to negotiate a calm deal with the Palestinian leadership, Israel “must keep a tactful view” with the Palestinians, and their ties with the Palestinian leadership “will get more powerful and more in-depth by the time.”
Furthermore, he added that the Coordination and constant talks between these two nations are critical for their security and their children’s future. The matter of concern is how our state will look.
According to the Israel minister, “the year-long weakening of the Palestinian Authority has built Hamas and hurt Israel’s security.”
The military group of Palestinian Hamas expelled the Palestinian Authority forces from the Gaza strip in 2007, and from that year, they have been controlling and ruling the coastal enclave.
At the end of 2021, Gantz and Abbas met at Gantz’s home in the city “Rosh Ha’Ayin” in central Israel to discuss the issues regarding security and economic matters.
The very next day, Israel tries to show a series of gestures to improve relations with the Palestinian government, including the transfer of 100 million new shekels worth of tax payment of 31.5 million dollars that Israel collected on behalf of the Palestinian government.
Gantz and Abbas first met on August 30 last year; it was the first face to face meeting between the Palestinian president and senior Israeli officials for more than a decade.
